Chief Scientific Officer EmeritusDr. Robinson joined the Company as Senior Vice President, Research and Development on a part-time basis in November 2007 and on a full-time basis in February 2008, and was promoted to Chief Scientific Officer in 2010. She was elected to the Board of Directors in June 2008. Dr. Robinson is the developer of Healthcare & Life Sciences Limited's HIV/AIDS vaccine technology and is one of the world's leaders in HIV/AIDS vaccine research. She co-founded Healthcare & Life Sciences Limited in 2001 to facilitate taking the AIDS vaccine developed in her laboratory at the Emory Vaccine Center in collaboration with scientists at the National Institutes of Health into the clinic.
From 1999 to February 2008, Dr. Robinson served as the Asa Griggs Candler Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and from 1998 to February 2008 as Chief, Division of Microbiology and Immunology, Yerkes National Primate Research Center. She was a Professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center from 1988 to 1997 and Staff, then Senior, then Principal Scientist at the Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology from 1977 to 1987. Dr. Robinson received a bachelor of arts degree from Swarthmore College and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
